Cool Password restrictions

I'm writing some logic to test the strength of the password, are there any limitations on exactly what is meant by 'special character' in this statement:

"ECGridOS requires strong passwords of at least 8 characters. There must be at least one Uppercase, one Lowercase, one numeric digit and one special character. Password must be updated at least once every 180 days."

Do you have a listing of the valid special characters by chance?

We are using the following RegEx expression to test for passwords:

As it was explained to me:

(?=^.{8,32}$) - 8 to 32 characters
(?=.*\d) - at least one digit 0 to 9
(?=.*\W+) - at least one non-word characters
(?![.\n]) - no cr+lf
(?=.*[A-Z]) - at least one capital
(?=.*[a-z]) - at least on lowercase

The definition of a word character is letters, digits and underscores. So it would seem, anything other than those.
